I just realized I’m eight days short of  not having blogged in a month. Bad blogger! I’m sorry. Well, not that anyone really cares except for me. I haven’t been in the mood. Nothing way too exciting has happened anyway. I feel like I just work, eat and sleep. I work most days from 6:45am to 4pm. Then I get home, I eat dinner and I watch The Vampire Diaries until I finally go to bed WAY TOO LATE (2am-ish) and I’m left with less than 4 hours of sleep. I guess my problem is I find the days are way too short, and I want to take advantage of them as much as I possibly can. Not always a good strategy!

Anyways, my absolute favorites; Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen are on the cover of Vogue’s best dressed issue, and I definitely think they deserve it. Kudos to them for daring to wear WHATEVER they want. I guess that’s why they pull off all those crazy outfits so nicely.

This coming weekend is my work weekend, so I’ve got work tomorrow from 6:45am to 4pm, then from 1pm to 9pm Saturday night. And as opposed to EVERY past weekend of the year 2011, I plan on NOT going to/throwing a party. Hopefully I can do it. Fingers crossed.

That pretty much describes how I feel about my latest purchase. A friend of mine has the coolest sunglasses ever, and I’ve been envying them for the longest time. I finally got around to asking her where she got them from. I thought they were Carreras from her photos. Turns out they were cheap 100 NOK sunglasses from Target at Grünerløkka in Oslo. She offered to go get them for me and ship them out here. So glad she did! After work today there was a slip in my mailbox saying I had to go get it at my local post office – and so I did. I’ve been looking for “this style” (whatever style they are) sunglasses for the longest time. I am so glad I finally found some good ones. THANK YOU, Ragnhild <3

Thoughts?

You gotta love shopping sprees like the one I had yesterday – it wasn’t intended. AND; It wasn’t a lot or expensive at all. In fact, I only bought one thing – and I wasn’t even the one who paid for it. I took my boyfriend to the mall to look for a bathroom scale. We found one we wanted + some more randoms stuff for the apartment. We were in H&M and browsing around. I didn’t even have my wallet with me as I hadn’t planned to buy anything, but I found an awesome pair of wedges. They were so cool I had to get them! The best part is; They were SO cheap.

In my previous blog post I told you I went shopping today and bought quite a lot of new stuff. I’m not gonna say a lot about that except this; I love simplicity, and I think you can probably tell from the photo. (Aaand I just realized I forgot about two of the things I bought – my jeans and new blazer. Guess I have to take pictures of that too, so there won’t have to be a third shopping post today.

And about that.. I really don’t have anything against the concept of highwaist in general, but I gave it another shot, I tried it on and it just looks oh-so untasteful. I’d have to lose at least 15 kgs – and that’s not fishing for compliments, swear to God. Maybe one day I’ll wear it with pride, but as of right now I don’t wanna highlight my least favorite body part.

I had to take another picture of these lovely ballerina flats (this time I used my point and shoot Canon, even though auto focus doesn’t work and I’m far from perfect at taking pictures with it. The quality IS amazing, though, and I really like how this one turned out.

This blog has really been lacking blog updates lately, and I am sorry about that. I haven’t been in the blog mood, and it felt like an effort to blog – it shouldn’t be like that. Now, I blog of own free will. I am excited. I’ve been MIA, but now I’m back.

I did something I very rarely do today. I went shopping! I ALWAYS shop when I’m in America. I LOVE American malls, and I love that they have other stores than the stores all Norwegians go to in Norway. But today I decided to go. It’s my only day off this week (except for Sunday, which I thankfully have off every week) and I wanted to go check out Whitney Port’s collection for Bik Bok. Bik Bok is a really popular clothing store for teenagers and people in their young 20s (I’d say)in Norway, so I was excited to check it out. I’m sure all of you know Whitney from The Hills – my favorite reality show (I just started reading Lauren Conrad’s novelty series, L.A. Candy). Whitney was actually on Senkveld (a Norwegian talk show) Friday night promoting her new collection. I found a HOT pair of black platform pumps with the platform being all covered in glitter. Of course they didn’t have my size. The girl in the store suggested I try on a different pair of shoes – a pair of ballerina flats. I very rarely buy them. I used to really like ballerinas in my teenage years, but I’m not all that into them anymore. I still tried them on, and they are so cute! I can’t wait to wear them with jeans, or my new black pants. I think they go with pretty much everything.

I bought much more stuff – I’ll post pictures of that later. But for now…

What do you think?

For me, trying to constantly follow the trends, is such a waste. To prove it, I have THREE closets FULL of clothes. Most of which I never wear. I’m trying to clean them out and toss (give away) a lot, but it’s hard. When I flip through them, I figure I WILL wear them SOMETIME. Sounds familiar, right? Truth is; I probably never will, and really there is no point in keeping them.

Over the past two or three years, I’ve found I’d rather pay a little extra for better quality and fit. I’ve come to really love the little green crocodile – Lacoste. I find their pieces timeless and classy, and they LAST.

Take the outfit I’m wearing today; Jeans and a black Lacoste shirt. To “spice it up” a little I’m wearing my fancier watch (of the two I wear); My rose gold Marc by Marc Jacobs. I plan on wearing my knee-high black boots when I go outside.

Obviously I will pick up cheaper stuff to, but I try to tell myself this: “You tend to always go back to the pieces you paid a little extra for. Why spend $100 on a bunch of stuff you never wear, rather than on a shirt you’ll love and wear everyday (well, not everyday, but you know what I mean…)?

Tuesday. My day off. I actually have every Tuesday off, plus every other Saturday. Kinda nice. I haven’t really blogged a whole lot lately, but I do enjoy it, so here I am – back in the world of blogging!

I have long been blond now, and it was time to make a choice. Stay blond or go darker. I decided on the first. I’ve spent so much money on getting my hair lighter, so I don’t wanna waste it and go dark quite yet. Plus, I do really like a lighter look. I am going to the hairdresser today to get my roots done. They are terrible. The top of my head is DARK whereas the rest is light, light blond. Then again, dark roots seem to be quite popular in Hollywood, so I’m not worried. Just kidding. I MIGHT post a picture of how it turns out ;)

Ah, how I miss the Carolinas!

I am currently listening to 104.7 WNOK – Columbia’s Hit Music Station. iHeartRadio is genious! It lets you listen to American radio stations. Well, usually I get a message telling me I’m outside of the United States, so it won’t let me listen to it, but I’m on my boyfriend’s Mom’s new laptop and it works. Yay! So happy. I’ve missed it – plus, I need some new music ideas anyways, so this is perfect. It’s the perfect music station for me. When I lived in North Carolina I used to listen to 93.9 Kiss FM and G105.1, the last one being my favorite. When I would drive down to Columbia, South Carolina to visit Whitney I’d listen to 104.7 WNOK. Listening to it now, and hearing them speak English in between songs… America, I miss you! I am definitely satisfied where I am today, but I definitely miss my real home, which will always be America. I guess you could say I have a soft spot for it.
